At Lawlor’s of Naas, we are not just dedicated to offering luxury and memorable experiences; we are also deeply committed to sustainability and preserving the rich history that defines our unique identity. Through innovative repurposing of historic elements and our comprehensive Sustainability Plan, we are paving the way for a greener, more thoughtful future.

The Sustainability Management Plan: A Roadmap to a Greener Future

Sustainability is more than a buzzword at Lawlor’s; it is a guiding principle. Our Sustainability Management Plan is a structured, long-term approach to ensuring our operations align with the highest environmental standards. Partnering with the Green Hospitality Award, we are committed to continuous improvement and aligning our efforts with national and international sustainability objectives.

Our focus areas include:

Energy & Carbon Management: Reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency through innovative solutions and sustainable practices.

Water & Waste Management: Minimizing resource use and waste production to protect the environment.

Green Procurement: Sourcing materials and products responsibly to support the circular economy.

Community Engagement: Collaborating with the local community to promote sustainability and shared goals.

Biodiversity and Employee Welfare: Supporting biodiversity through thoughtful planning and ensuring the well-being of our dedicated team.

We are proud to work towards achieving the Green Hospitality Eco-Label Award, which provides a foundation for our sustainability journey. With this certification, we aim to build on our efforts, embedding sustainable practices across every aspect of our operations.

A Marriage of History and Modernity

In our 2022 extension of a 110-year-old building, we have seamlessly integrated historical elements into modern spaces. Every detail reflects our commitment to sustainability and design excellence, creating an atmosphere where history and modernity coexist.

Notable repurposed items include:

Elegant Brass Railings and Doors: These now frame the entrance to Vi’s Restaurant but were originally security gates in a Las Vegas money-counting room. They have been thoughtfully repurposed to add a distinctive touch to the hotel while celebrating their historical significance.

Stone Fireplace and Chandeliers: Imported from a chateau in France, these features bring timeless elegance to our spaces, showcasing the beauty of reclaimed materials.

Custom Stained Glass Windows: Originally created in Nevada as a heartfelt memorial, these windows bring character and warmth to the hotel.

Reception Desk: Lovingly restored from the renowned Berkeley Court Hotel, it now serves as a centerpiece in our lobby.

Heat Vents: Sourced from Christchurch Cathedral, these vents are a subtle nod to the rich heritage woven into our building’s design.

By repurposing and restoring these remarkable items, we reduce waste and give new life to materials that carry stories of their own.

A Vision for Continuous Improvement

We recognize that sustainability is a journey, not a destination. At Lawlor’s, we are committed to implementing impactful actions today while laying the groundwork for continued improvement in the years to come. Our ultimate goal is to create a sustainable, financially sound business that contributes positively to the environment and our community.
