Human Resource Manager

Description

Lawlor’s of Naas is looking for a passionate, ambitious, personable HR Manager to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. This a new role and the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the HR function, providing support throughout the Hotel and implementing new initiatives, procedures, processes to develop the team, building and developing an efficient and positive work environment. This is the senior role and requires an experienced individual who is a team player, but one who is equally able to operate effectively with a significant amount of autonomy. 

Key Responsibilities 

- Drive change management as we transition to Four-star deluxe standard and open our new extension.

- Be responsible for all HR-related KPIs and use these to recommend and drive business performance management

- Work collaboratively with the Seniour team to drive business performance. Provide coaching and expertise on a range of complex, people-sensitive related issues. 

- Lead workforce planning for the business including an extensive recruitment campaign to meet the needs of our new expanded offering. Putting plans in place for the future needs of the Hotel both with new and existing team members. 

- Develop succession plans, working with our managers to identify a strong leadership pipeline and training plans to support that. 

- Confident in challenging the status quo, to continually develop and drive positive organisational change. 

- Oversee the effective management and resolution of all employee relations issues, in accordance with employment legislation, company policies and best practice. 

- Provide accurate HR advice and support to management and staff in relation to all aspects of the employment relations. 

- Manage day-to-day HR services in an effective and efficient manner. 

- Manage all employee litigation, with a proactive and collaborative approach with all parties. 

 

Professional requirements and experience

 

- A degree/masters in HR or related discipline, with CIPD qualification desirable. 

- Minimum 2-3 years in a senior role as HR Manager

- An excellent practical knowledge of Irish employment legislation, policies, procedures in line with recommended codes of practice.

- Be approachable, personable, energetic with the highest standard of integrity. Be accessible and open to our team members, always willing to listen, assist and support.

- Attention to detail, commercial awareness with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.

Hotel Duty Manager

Description

Hotel Duty Manager for our Town Centre Hotel.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to further their career in Hospitality. Career progression and continuous training will be provided to the right candidate.

 Role

To oversee the day-to-day operation of the Hotel while on duty. To ensure that a consistently high standard and quality of service exists at all times with a specific focus on both Food and Beverage and Rooms/Front Office departments.

 Key Responsibilities

- To work with the Management Team to ensure the smooth running of the hotel operation

- To ensure that all staff conduct themselves in accordance to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and hotel policy

- To ensure that the food and beverage department is operating within the food and hygiene regulations (HACCP)

- Ability to direct the team in all operational departments in their day-to-day duties

- A strong presence on the floor with a hands-on approach at all service times

- To assist the Head of Department to continually improve the procedures and systems

- To maintain control over the cash on the premises

- To handle any complaints that may arise and ensure that each complaint is handled in a manner that complies with the hotel policy

- To deal with guest queries in a friendly and professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction

- Log any accidents or incidents that may occur to patrons or staff of the hotel in the Duty Managers hand over the diary and / incident report forms

- To carry out security and fire walks while on duty and to ensure that all fire escape routes are kept clear and the doors are kept in good working order

- To ensure that all fire safety equipment is in good working order and that it is placed in the correct position as laid down by the fire officer

- To assist with sales incentives and promotions

- Experience using a Front Office / Reception computer System

- Experience using Restaurant Reservation Systems such as Res Diary or OpenTable would be an advantage

Hotel Wedding and Events Co-Ordinator

Description

With the opening of our luxury new extension, Lawlor’s of Naas will have a new wedding & Event venue and we are looking for a wedding & events coordinator to join our team and support us in providing a fabulous experience from start to finish for prospective couples and event clients. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record working previously in a 4 or 5-star hotel as an events coordinator/manager. You will actively promote events within the hotel and aim to maximise sales opportunities. You will keep abreast and be familiar with trends within the industry locally and abroad with a view to enhancing our product and service.

The Role

Working within the Sales team you will be responsible for the smooth running of the events office and client management. This role will focus on event planning and implementation through liaising daily/weekly with the Operations Team within the hotel.

The Events co-ordinator must maintain open communication between clients, have excellent attention to detail and must be a highly organised individual, ensuring prompt and exceptional customer care at all times and providing clear and concise reports as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for delivering and exceeding customer expectations both on the telephone and in-person representing Lawlor’s of Naas with a warm welcome 

- Ensure a timely and accurate response to all customer enquiries, providing information, quotations, proposals and contracts

- Respond to wedding and event enquiries in a timely fashion (email, phone, walk-in)

- Ensure detailed files are maintained and that HotSoft is kept up to date

- Negotiate packages and drive sales

- Manage client expectations and always over-deliver

- Handle all customer enquiries and complaints according to the hotel’s expectations ensuring guests are happy on departure

- Ensure that customer comments are relayed to the department for follow-up

- Prepare weekly function sheets

- Preparing and maintaining administrative documentation with respect to events, implementing proper filing procedures, and ensuring the computer system is always updated and accurate.

This is a full-time position and will involve some weekend work

Hotel Receptionist

Description

We are looking for a full-time receptionist to join our expanding team. 

Role and key responsibilities

The right candidate will be able to deliver the warm welcome and excellent customer service that Lawlor’s of Naas has built its reputation around. You will take all incoming calls, handle phone reservations, confirm previously-made reservations, register guests & take payments using the hotel's computer system and assume responsibility for the security of room keys. Receptionists also give directions to the hotel and answer any questions customers have about the hotel and surrounding area. When a guest's stay is over, handle check-outs and ask for feedback and handle any complaints. This is an important and valued role on our team.

 Requirements

Night Porter

Description

Due to the expansion of our property, Lawlor's Hotel is currently looking to recruit a Night Porter to oversee the smooth operation of the hotel.

Role 

The Night Manager is the Manager on Duty and responsible for all hotel operations during overnight shift hours, focusing on Front Office operations, night audit, guest and hotel safety/security ensuring a professional and high-quality service at all times at Lawlor’s of Naas.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

- Ensure a safe and secure environment for customers, staff and visitors is maintained at all times.

- Carry out security and health and safety checks of the entire hotel building on a regular basis

- Receive orders, prepare and service light refreshments to guest’s rooms as required.

- Carry out required cleaning duties through the night, including public areas, toilets, meeting rooms, food and beverage outlets, and any other areas required.

- Carry out wake-up calls.

- Carry out porterage when required

- Deal with telephone and guest enquiries.

Description

We are looking for the right person to help in the smooth running and growth of our busy bar business in Naas. Experienced Bar Staff required and experience in food service is also a necessity.

Lawlor's of Naas is looking for an Accommodation Assistant to join our growing team as we get ready to open our luxury new extension.

Role

The Housekeeping/Accommodation Assistant’s day-to-day duties include the upkeep of rooms and equipment. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- To work as part of the Accommodation Team

- To clean and service the hotel guest rooms, bathrooms, public areas

- To liaise with the Accommodation team in finding opportunities to "surprise and delight" our guests whenever possible

Description

We are looking to hire a full-time permanent Painter & Decorator to assist us in the maintenance & upkeep of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintaining and upkeep of all decorative surfaces in the hotel

- Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint.

- Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces. 

- Providing decorative and faux finishes as the project requires.

Restaurant Host

Description

Lawlor’s of Naas is looking for a Restaurant Host for their busy Bistro restaurant. The Host is responsible for welcoming customers to our busy restaurant and ensuring that they are seated, receive attentive service and that all Covid 19 requirements are fulfilled when guests arrive to dine/Drink at Lawlor’s of Naas. Their duties include maintaining a waitlist of patrons during busy meal service, passing out menus and accepting phone calls.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain a clean reception area

- Understand Covid 19 Safety requirements for guests entering Lawlor’s of Naas

- Be able to verify Covid 19 passports 

- Be able to operate a Restaurant booking system and experience with Red Diary an advantage

- Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly)

Requirements
